Gobhlan Taighe Terms and Conditions
1. Making your booking
A provisional booking can be made initially by telephone or e mail, the booking will be held for seven days pending the deposit which is one third of the balance or balance in full being paid to secure the reservation. By being the named person on the booking form you confirm that you are over twenty five years of age, are responsible for making all payments, all named members of the party on the booking form will be governed by these terms and conditions and respect the community and neighbours. As soon as we receive your deposit we will send written confirmation by e mail. At this point your binding contract with us will begin. This will show you’re booking details and the amount you still owe for the booking; it is your responsibility to check the details carefully and inform us of any errors immediately. We have the right to refuse any booking before we send you written confirmation even if you pay a deposit into our bank it will not mean we accept a booking. At this point the zip and link bedding arrangements noted cannot be changed.
2. Payment
You should pay the deposit amount due by paypal or bank transfer in pounds sterling. We then must receive the balance and security deposit no less than 8 weeks before the start of your trip. However, if you book less than 8 weeks before the start of your trip, we must receive full payment of the total cost when you make the booking. If you do not pay any payment due in relation to your booking by the appropriate date we are entitled to assume that you want to cancel your booking. In this case we will be entitled to keep all deposits paid or due at that date.
3. Booking Form
The maximum occupancy is 8 adults and as such you cannot exceed this, or arrange for visitors to stay in the property without advanced consent from the owners. Any changes, additions or name changes to the original list presented at time of booking have to be by written permission from the owners. If a person or persons in the original party do not travel but the booking still goes ahead with reduced numbers, this will not affect the total cost of your booking. The accommodation provided is only for those named on the booking form, sub letting, sharing or assigning will be deemed to be in infringement of the terms and conditions of rental and as such the owners reserve the right to evict all tenants. If any anti social behaviour or behaving illegally by any member of the party we will treat these circumstances as a cancellation by you and the police will be in attendance.
4. Security Deposit
Customers agree to having the following deducted from the security deposit of £100 if these conditions are not observed: Keys to be left on visitors book in porch, loss or damage of any items, damage to property or equipment, house to be is left clean and tidy state, bed linen has been stripped and placed in laundry bags provided, missing towels, pet hair has been hovered up, worktops and table have no scorch marks. This helps ensure that smooth turnover’s are possible. If there has been damage greater than the £100 security deposit the customer agrees to accept the costs of the repair. Children to be supervised at all times by an adult.
5. Entry and Departure Times
Entry into Gobhlan Taighe is at 16.00pm on day of arrival and vacated by 10am on morning of departure. The high season is very busy, please be patient if the house is not ready arrangements with the house keeper can be made to deposit luggage.
6. Cutting short your stay
You are not eligible for any refund if you choose to cut short you stay or leave before the end of your booking.
7. Pet Friendly
Gobhlan Taighe is a pet friendly house. A maximum of two medium sized well behaved dogs that are not allowed upstairs, on beds or furniture, or in any shared facilities. Do not leave pets unattended in the property. You must pick up any dog fouling in the area and boundaries of the garden. If any member of the party has a pet allergy, we cannot guarantee accept any responsibility for any subsequent health reaction.
8. Events beyond our control
Unfortunately we will not be legally responsible for any compensation as a result of events beyond our control. This means an event we could not expect or avoid, including but not limited to: natural disaster, act of terrorism, malicious damage, accident, breakdown of equipment or machinery, fire, flood or storm etc…
9. Responsibility
If you have any complaints about our service when you arrive at Gobhlan Taighe you must let us know immediately. The first contact is the house keeper as small issues can be resolved quickly. Please call the owners if the situation is still not resolved. Any complaints should be made in e mail within seven days of the end of your stay. This will help us provide a better service for our customers. Please make sure you have enough travel insurance for your trip.
10. If you change or cancel you’re booking
a. Changes
If you want to change any detail of your confirmed booking, we must receive your notice in writing by email. Also, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet your request. You may be asked for a payment of £25 per change. You will be responsible for any higher charges that occur when moving to different dates or indeed any cancellation charges that apply dependant on the notice given.
b. Full cancellations
If you have or want to cancel you’re booking please phone us on the number shown on your booking confirmation as soon as possible. The day we receive your notice by phone to cancel is the date on which we will cancel your booking.
You may be eligible for a full refund if you cannot reach your holiday destination at all due to snow or flood conditions or as a result of being involved in an accident while on the way there. (You will need to produce evidence of this including from the police or Highways Agency). Although a refund is available in these circumstances you may prefer to delay your arrival. If you choose to delay in these circumstances you will receive a 15% refund for each 24 hour delay (up to a maximum of 72 hours = 45%)
If the reason for cancellation is not one of those in the paragraph above, you will have to pay a cancellation charge based on the number of days before the arrival date at the property that we receive notice, as shown in the following table.
